Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has accepted an invitation to appear on content creator Isbae U’s YouTube show, Curiosity Made Me Ask.

He also pledged to improve his engagement with young Nigerians.

Dangote made the commitment on Monday during a visit by Isbae U, whose real name is Adebayo Ridwan, to the Dangote Refinery in Lagos.

The content creator urged the billionaire to connect with younger audiences through platforms they regularly watch, noting that many of his previous interviews had appeared on platforms that did not attract his generation.

“Most of the interviews we’ve seen you have been on platforms that my generation don’t watch,” Isbae U said.

He added that young Nigerians were interested in investing in Dangote’s business and wanted opportunities to engage with him, particularly in view of the proposed initial public offering of the refinery.

Responding, Dangote acknowledged the importance of reaching younger audiences, describing them as the future of Nigeria and Africa.

“Honestly, the future that we have is actually you, the youth. We, our own generation, really, we have not really done very well for Nigeria and also for Africa. That’s the truth,” he said.

The industrialist said older generations needed to interact with younger people and share their experiences.

“So, we need to sit down with some of you and discuss our own experience with you,” he added.

Dangote also acknowledged that people in his position needed to pay greater attention to the audiences younger Nigerians engage with.

“So really, you are right. Going forward, this sort of audience is the audience that we, somebody like me, should actually face,” he said.

He subsequently accepted Isbae U’s invitation to appear on Curiosity Made Me Ask, assuring the content creator that he would honour it.

“We will come,” Dangote said.

He added that he wanted the conversation to be an open forum where young people could ask questions about how he built his business and achieved success.

Although a date for the appearance has not been announced, Dangote’s commitment signals his intention to engage more with younger Nigerians through platforms that appeal to them.

The proposed appearance could give young audiences an opportunity to hear directly from one of Africa’s most prominent business leaders.
