Fans of Bursaspor have paid tributes to Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho after he scored a brace against Batman Petrolspor to take his tally to 11 goals in eight 1. Lig matches.
He has scored in each of his league appearances and matched a run achieved by Fernandao with Bursaspor in 2014-2015.
On Saturday, September 19, the Nigerian striker scored both of his team’s goals in their 2-1 away win over Batman Petrolspor on the occasion of the eighth round of the 1. Lig.
Bursaspor conceded the opening goal in the 29th minute scored by Doria but Iheanacho levelled the scores from the penalty spot in the 60th minute before giving his side the win in the 85th.
This brace takes his tally to 11 goals and two assists in eight league matches. Above all, he has scored in each of those eight games.
Having joined Bursaspor this summer after his spell at Celtic, Iheanacho quickly moved to the top of the 1. Lig scoring charts. His brace against Batman Petrolspor allows him to retain first place with 11 goals.
Following his heroics, local fans in the return flight gave him a standing ovation as he boarded.
