Billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, popularly known as Baba Ijebu, has described himself as a Lagos boy, saying he has lived in the State since 1948.

Baba Ijebu spoke on Friday during the commissioning of the new operational headquarters he donated to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).

“I was born in 1935. At the age of 13, 1948, Icame to Lagos,” he said.

Explaining his connection to the state, the businessman added that he had lived in Lagos since 1948, asking where else he could belong.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who formally opened the multi-million-naira facility.

Adebutu single-handedly donated the fully equipped headquarters to support the LSSTF’s operations and strengthen security efforts in the state.

The donation underscores his contribution to security infrastructure in Lagos, where he has lived for nearly eight decades.
