VIDEO: Market women take delivery of pregnant woman
Every women rallied round of other own to offer emergency medical intervention at a critical point.
Market women in a Southern Eastern State have assisted to take delivery of a pregnant woman.
In a video circulating online, they were seen forming a human shield around the woman who apparently went into labour in the market, too late to access medical support or intervention.
Rather than panic, the women went to work, using their skills as mothers to help her go through the labour process.
They later handed over the newly born to a man believed to be the father after the heartwarming session. Some of the traders were later seen donating money to the new baby.
Their effort is another evidence of how Nigerians improvise and collaborate to get through when confronted by hurdles and obstacles.
