VIDEO: Osimhen reconnects with Lagos community roots
The footballer forgot stardom to share value time with his old neighourhood, showing the essential communal bond in Nigeria.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reunited with old friends and residents at Olusosun, a community where he grew up in Lagos.
The Galatasaray player revisited the community when he was in Nigeria during the September international football break. Osimhen, who couldn’t play for Nigeria during the break, took the opportunity of being around to show up at Olusosun.
Video clips showed residents warmly received him. Osimhen, who used to hawk in traffic before fortunes smiled on him, related freely with the residents.
He hugged, shook hands and exchanged pleasantries with the security with him having little to do than to watch the bond between the superstar and his old neighourhood.
The visit saw the Nigerian star reunite with residents and people who witnessed his early years before his rise to international prominence.
