The youngest king in Yorubaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II, the Arujale-Ojima of Okeluse Kingdom in Ondo State, has graduated from Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), with a degree in Political Science.
The 23-year-old monarch graduated during the university’s 14th convocation ceremony held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
Oba Akinghare ascended the throne in 2019 at 16 following the death of his father, making him one of the youngest traditional rulers in Nigeria.
Despite his royal responsibilities, he continued his education at ABUAD, where he studied Political Science under the College of Social and Management Sciences.
His graduation marks another milestone in his journey of combining traditional leadership with academic development.
Reports on the convocation identified the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, among the prominent figures present at the ceremony.
The monarch’s achievement highlights the importance of education and the pursuit of knowledge alongside leadership responsibilities.
