Nollywood faith-based film Agbára Ńlá: The Return has grossed ₦354.5 million at the Nigerian box office, becoming the third-highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026.
The film’s distributor, Nile Entertainment, announced the milestone in an Instagram post, thanking Nigerian audiences for supporting the production.
“₦354.5 MILLION AND COUNTING! History is being made with AGBÁRA NLÁ: THE RETURN! Now the highest-grossing film ever released in October and the 3rd highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026, this is more than a box office milestone. It’s a testament to the power of Nigerian stories and the audiences who show up for them. From all of us at Nile Entertainment, THANK YOU, NIGERIA! AGBARA NLA: THE RETURN IS NOW SHOWING IN CINEMAS NATIONWIDE,” the distributor wrote.
The announcement marks an increase from the ₦307.2 million the film had reportedly grossed by October 16, when it ranked fourth among Nollywood releases of 2026.
Released in Nigerian cinemas on October 1, Agbára Ńlá: The Return revisits the 1993 Christian classic created by veteran filmmaker Mike Bamiloye under Mount Zion Film Productions.
The new production was directed by Bamiloye’s sons, Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua “Jay Mikee” Mike-Bamiloye, bringing the familiar faith-based story to a new generation of cinema audiences.
The film’s reported performance highlights the commercial potential of faith-based productions and the continued appeal of Nigerian stories on the big screen.
The film is showing in cinemas nationwide, according to the distributor.
