In recognition of the positive contributions, professionalism and cultural values of Nigerians, especially those from the Yoruba-speaking parts, the City of Casey in Melbourne, Australia has officially named a new street Yoruba Lane.

The lane is located in one of the city's fast-growing residential corridors, demonstrating the high regards with which the city holds Nigerians of Yoruba extraction.

The gesture acknowledges the hard work, integrity, and community values (Omoluabi ethos) of Yoruba professionals, families and leaders in sectors like healthcare, education and business.

Community leader and psychiatric clinician Chief Abiola Falayajo praised the gesture as a proud testament to Nigerian and Yoruba excellence abroad

Yoruba lane stands as a lasting symbol of the cultural pride and diversity within one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing areas.
