Ehinfun-Adekunle is Nigeria's youngest female SAN

Admin · UPDATED

Mrs. Olamide Mojigbotoluwa Ehinfun-Adekunle has become the youngest female Senior of Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

She was one of the 68 newly sworn in SANs by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on Monday.

Former Ekiti Governor Kayode Fayemi, who described her as his mentee, congratulated his mentee, Ehinfun-Adekunle.

He described her journey to the rank of SAN as remarkable.

Fayemi, in a post on his X account on Thursday, wrote: “It was such a delight to celebrate with my mentee, Mrs. Olamide Mojigbotoluwa Ehinfun-Adekunle, on her elevation to the Inner Bar as the youngest female Senior Advocate of Nigeria.’’

He recalled that Ehinfun-Adekunle was fresh out of law school when he met her in 2010/2011 at the Nuhu Ribadu Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja.

“Although our presidential candidate fell short of victory in that election, her brilliance, passion and diligence caught my attention, not least because of her Ekiti roots,” Fayemi wrote.

The former Governor said he had watched her rise through the legal profession over the past 16 years, culminating in her becoming a partner at Afe Babalola & Co., one of Nigeria’s leading law firms.

Fayemi said he was not surprised by her achievement, given her intellectual ability, dedication and hard work, but noted that the new status came with additional responsibilities.

“While I’m not surprised that your sharp intellect, unstinting dedication and hard work have truly paid off, with every success come additional responsibilities,” he stated.

He expressed confidence that the new SAN would continue to make significant contributions to the legal profession.

“I have no doubt that you will continue to leave giant footprints in the legal world,” Fayemi added.

He concluded his message by congratulating her and offering prayers for her continued success, saying, “Congratulations, Olamide. The Lord is your strength.”
