Ex-BBNaija star Anto Lecky appointed Special Adviser in Edo
Edo Governor Monday Okpebholo has appointed former Big Brother Naija housemate Munirat Antoinette Lecky, popularly known as Anto Lecky, as Special Adviser on Tourism and Creative Economy.
The appointment took effect on October 12, 2026, according to a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor.
Lecky announced the development on her Instagram page, expressing gratitude to the Governor for the opportunity to serve in a new capacity.
“I thank His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo State @he_mondayokpebholo for the opportunity to serve him, my state and my country again in another capacity,” she wrote.
The appointment follows her previous role as Senior Special Assistant to the governor on Tourism and Creative Economy.
In her new position, Lecky is expected to contribute to the promotion of Edo State’s cultural heritage, tourism potential and creative industries.
Highlighting the opportunities available to the state, she said: “With the return of many stolen Benin Bronze, soon-to-be opened museums, and an ever growing entertainment industry, there is no better time for Edo State to be on the forefront of tourism and the creative economy in Nigeria and the world.”
She also expressed optimism about attracting visitors and investors to the state.
“Edo State’s borders and its economy are open to all, travelers and investors, domestic and international. I look forward to working with all stakeholders,” she added. Lecky gained national recognition in 2018 as a contestant on the third season of Big Brother Naija, where she reached the semi-final stage. Her appointment marks a new chapter in her public service career, with tourism and the creative economy at the centre of her responsibilities.
