Ace actress Shaffy Bello has declared that Nigeria made her despite spending many years overseas especially in America.

She said she found her true purpose and identity in Nigeria, stating she has no plans to relocate abroad.

Calling Nigeria her true home, the actress prayed never to ‘’have the opportunity to return,’’ admitting America shaped her early training.

Speaking at a panel session during “20+ Years in the Media: Real Talk with Kike @7”, Bello reflected on living abroad and building a career at home.

She said America shaped her early training but Nigeria defined her identity.

“America trained me but Nigeria made me,” she said.

“I pray I never get the opportunity, as they call it, to go back. Yes, you’ll say because I’ve done it before. I’ve been there before.

‘’Yes, I agree with that. But because of the opportunities I’ve seen in this country, and still see, I never want to go back. This is home, this is where it is,” she said.

When asked what can give young Nigerians hope amid current realities, Bello said she still believes in the country’s opportunities.

She admitted power supply, education and healthcare remain frustrating but encouraged young people to focus on self-development.

Offering advice on longevity in the industry, Bello stressed authenticity and diligence.

“Look within yourself: what do you have to offer? What is in your hands? Whatever you have to offer, study, learn, and prove yourself worthy of it.

“For me to be here for so many years, first, I must be authentic to who I am. If you lie, you keep having to remember the lies; if you tell the truth, it’s easy.”

She also urged youths to keep faith at the centre of their pursuit.
