NYSC introduces security app with SOS emergency alert, GPS tracking
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has introduced a security application featuring emergency alert and location-tracking capabilities to improve the safety of corps members.
The application, known as the NYSC Security App, allows corps members to send SOS distress alerts with their GPS coordinates to an operations centre.
It also features biometric clearance, official announcements and GPS-based field monitoring.
In an announcement on its social media handles, the scheme directed all prospective corps members (PCMs) to download the application through their NYSC dashboards or via its website, "nysc.online".
NYSC stated that downloading and registering on the application is compulsory, as prospective corps members are expected to continue their registration through the platform.
It warned that those who fail to download the app will not be registered at the orientation camp.
