UCL: Lookman’s goal helps Atletico Madrid beat Man Utd
Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman scored minutes after his introduction to help Atletico Madrid beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Lookman, a second half substitute, tapped in the second goal to condemn the 10-man Red Devils to another Champions League defeat.
The defeat piles on more pressure on Michael Carrick, who is enjoying a torrid start to life as United’s permanent manager.
The Red Devils were behind as early as the first minute of the match, as Pablo Barrios put the hosts in front.
Lookman was introduced in the second half of the game and reacted quickest to tap home a rebound in the 79th minute.
It is a first win for Diego Simeone’s men, who now sit in 13th place on the Champions League table.
