Unilever offers scholarships for employee’s children

Admin

Children of Unilever Nigeria employees in secondary school are eligible for a scholarship scheme to support their educational pursuit.

Established over 30 years ago, the Unilever Nigeria Scholarship Scheme provides merit-based scholarships to academically high-performing children of the company’s non-management employees.

The students participated in the competitive scholarship aptitude examination administered by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) across Unilever Nigeria’s manufacturing sites in Agbara and Oregun.

Each scholarship begins from Junior Secondary School and renewable through Senior Secondary School Year Three (SSS3), subject to satisfactory academic performance.

New applicants must rank among the top 25 candidates and attain a minimum score of 50 per cent in the aptitude test.

Existing awardees are required to maintain a minimum 50 per cent average score in their final examinations and obtain at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language, in a recognised secondary school final examination on their first attempt.

The Human Relations Director, Unilever Nigeria, Michael Duah, said the initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to the well-being of its employees and their families.
