VIDEO: Flamingos celebrate historic qualification for World Cup final

Nigeria’s U-17 Women team, Flamingos, have celebrated the first ever qualification for the World Cup final.

The team defeated Brazil 3-1 on Wednesday evening to book a spot in the World Cup final against Japan on Saturday November 7.

A brace from midfielder Awawu Bashiru and a goal from Queen Joseph secured the victory against the highly-rated Brazilian team who couldn’t cope with the superior techniques and energy of the Flamingos.

Shortly after the final whistle, the team was captured celebrating the qualification wildly with the green and white flag of Nigeria.

The celebration underscores the passion of the team for their motherland.
