A 100-level student of Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, Favour Ayuba, has regained freedom after abduction by gunmen in Plateau State.

Ayuba was reportedly abandoned by her captors after a joint security team launched an operation that forced them to flee on sighting the advancing personnel.

The university's Acting Public Relations Officer, Masara Kim, confirmed the development to journalists in Jos on Tuesday, November 3, saying the student had been taken to a hospital for medical examination and was receiving medical attention.

She was abducted on October 31 from an off-campus residential area in Bokkos Local Government Area. Another person was also shot and injured during the attack.

The university commended the security personnel for prompt response and said it was working with relevant agencies to strengthen the safety of students and staff.
