Davido joins Kirk Franklin on Gospel-Afrobeats fusion, Hope in you
American gospel music star Kirk Franklin has joined forces with Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido to release a new song titled Hope In You.
The song brings together Franklin’s gospel music style and Davido’s Afrobeats sound in a collaboration that blends inspirational messages with modern African music.
The track is part of Franklin’s double album, I Am What I Am, released on October 30, 2026, under Fo Yo Soul Recordings, TRIBL Records and Uptown Records.
The album contains 14 tracks, made up of seven studio recordings and seven live performances. It also features other music stars, including Jelly Roll, GloRilla and Tobe Nwigwe, alongside Davido.
Hope In You runs for three minutes and 27 seconds, with Franklin leading the gospel arrangement while Davido adds his melodic vocals to the song.
The collaboration was first introduced to selected listeners during a private listening event in Atlanta on October 12, 2026. Those present had an early opportunity to experience the song, which features uplifting sounds and strong bass rhythms.
After the album became available to the public, Franklin and Davido took their collaboration to the From The Block music platform, where they performed the new song together.
A video of the performance was later shared on Instagram by @4shootersonly and quickly attracted attention from music fans.
The clip reportedly gathered more than 100,000 likes within 11 hours of being posted, showing the early interest generated by the collaboration between the American gospel singer and the Nigerian music star.
