How to access FG’s new USSD loan service for phones, gadgets

The Federal Government has introduced a new USSD-based loan service that allows Nigerians to access credit for mobile phones and other electronic gadgets without needing a smartphone or internet connection.

The service, known as SPARK, was launched by the Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) to make consumer loans more accessible, particularly to Nigerians who have little or no borrowing history with formal financial institutions.

Interested Nigerians can access the service by dialling \*347\*333# on their mobile phones.

CREDICORP explained that the initiative would give first-time borrowers an opportunity to obtain credit and build formal financial records through responsible loan repayments.

The corporation added that Nigerians who repay their loans as agreed could gradually improve their credit profiles and become eligible for other financial opportunities.

The service is also expected to become more widely available across the country before the end of 2026.

SPARK was unveiled during CREDICORP's CREDICORP for All showcase in Aba, Abia State where the corporation presented different consumer credit opportunities to more than 1,000 residents.
