How to receive ₦50,000 NERSI relief fund- FG

The Federal Government has provided details on how Nigerians can receive the ₦50,000 National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention (NERSI), introduced to support vulnerable households amid rising living costs.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction said beneficiaries would be selected from the National Social Register and verified national identity records, using established poverty and vulnerability criteria.

According to the ministry, the intervention will cover beneficiaries across Nigeria's six geopolitical zones.

To receive the ₦50,000 relief fund, Nigerians should take note of the following:

1. No registration required: There is no application form or registration portal for the programme. Beneficiaries are selected by the government.

2. Wait for notification: Selected individuals will receive an SMS from an authorised digital financial service provider.

3. Check for selection: Beneficiaries should follow the instructions provided in their official notification to confirm their selection and access the payment.

4. Receive the ₦50,000: Each successful beneficiary will receive ₦50,000, which is a grant and not a loan.

The ministry warned against paying individuals or agents who claim they can secure a place on the beneficiary list, stressing that nobody can influence the selection process.

It also cautioned beneficiaries against sharing their Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), One-Time Passwords (OTPs) or Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) with anyone.
