VIDEO: Sanwo-Olu gifts woman ₦10m, iPhone duo at COWLSO conference

Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has gifted a woman ₦10 million and an iPhone Duo at the 26th National Women’s Conference of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) in Lagos.

The woman received both prizes after a mix-up during a stage presentation at the conference.

Several women were invited onto the stage and given pieces of paper bearing different labels.

Sanwo-Olu asked for the participant whose paper carried the word “Gift,” but the woman had “Gift Marker” written on hers.

The Governor governor subsequently decided to give her both prizes: the ₦10 million cash gift and the iPhone Duo.

The three-day conference, held from October 26 to 28 at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, brought together women from different sectors to discuss leadership, empowerment and community development.

This year's edition is particularly significant as it marks the final conference presided over by Lagos First Lady, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, after eight years as COWLSO chairperson.

The conference, themed “Anchored in Purpose: Be the Blueprint,” focused on purposeful leadership and women's development.

It also highlighted the importance of creating lasting impact in families, workplaces and communities.
