Osimhen scores again, dedicates goal to daughters, wife
Nigeria’s striker Victor Osimhen’s goal scoring streak continued when Galatasaray defeated Konyaspor 4-0 on Friday in Turkish super league few hours after the arrival of his second daughter.
Galatasaray made an early statement when Osimhen rose to meet Gabriel Sara’s free kick with a powerful header, giving the hosts the lead in the 12th minute.
The Nigerian came close to doubling his tally before the break, but his effort from the left side of the penalty area in stoppage time was tipped over the crossbar.
Osimhen was substituted in the 61st minute after recording five shots, three on target, and contributing another goal to Galatasaray’s winning performance.
Speaking after the match, Osimhen said: “Honestly, my heart is full. Welcoming another baby girl is a blessing I can’t put into words. I now have two little princesses, and every time I look at them, I find another reason to give everything.”
Asked if he had his family on mind when he scored, he answered:
“Always! My wife and my daughters are my biggest motivation. I wish they could feel what I feel when I hear the fans singing my name. This goal is for them. Daddy scored again!”
