After almost 30 years, Lilian Nneji releases debut album
After almost 30 years of being in the industry, gospel musician Lilian Nneji has finally released her debut album.
The 17-album track Highly favoured, she said is a product of years of consistent service and commitment to God.
She said the maiden album is after initial attempts to release an album many years failed.
According to her, she said she attempted to release a praise medley titled Anointed praise in 2011, which was a commercial failure.
She said the marketer told her never to bother to sing again because people won’t buy, a negative seed she said held her back for many years.
‘’Each time I went everywhere I kept hearing the word ‘your song no sweet’. I met a friend who told me to build my capacity and audience. Those two words stood with me,’’ she said in an attached interview.
In a video on her social media page, she wrote: ‘’Many years ago, God called me into the ministry, and I have served passionately with the gift He gave me.
‘’I made an attempt to put together an album project, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned, and the experience affected my desire to pursue an album project.
‘’I took my mind completely away from album projects and the pressures of the industry, choosing instead to focus on ministry and trust God’s timing.
‘’Today, to the glory of God, I am excited to present my very FIRST official album, HIGHLY FAVORED!
‘’This 17-track album is a complete musical package, bringing together different genres for different generations. From beautiful traditional praise sounds to energetic contemporary gospel and deep worship, there is something for everyone.’’
The album, she added, ‘’features familiar songs like Omeriwo Omeriwo Reprise and If E Reach Your Turn, alongside powerful new songs you haven’t heard before.
‘’I believe this project will bless you tremendously.’’
