Nigerian artist rallies 1,000 children for Guinness World Record attempt
Nigerian medical doctor and visual artist, Fola David, is set to bring together 1,000 Lagos public school children for a Guinness World Record attempt for the world's largest fabric marbling painting.
The initiative, tagged *Colours of Possibility*, will see the children contribute to a single continuous artwork measuring 150 square metres.
Scheduled for November 11, 2026 at Onikan Stadium, Lagos, the project aims to promote creativity, collaboration and inclusion among young people.
The initiative is supported by the Lagos State Government, the Lagos Ministry of Education and three federal ministries.
It will also feature a ₦10 million Creative Fund dedicated to supporting children's creative potential with 78MFB serving as the event's sponsor.
Fola David previously secured a Guinness World Records title for the largest drawing by an individual in July 2024 after creating a 1,004.7-square-metre artwork celebrating Nigeria's cultural diversity.
